WILD BLUEBERRY APPLE 7.6 oz. Ingredients- organic blueberries, organic apples, organic sugar, organic lemon The apple is a fruit that was recognized by early man as an important food source. More than 700,000 years have passed since early food gatherers in Central Asia munched on wild crab apples. Similar apples were cultivated by neolithic farmers in Asia Minor 8,000 years ago, and records indicate that early Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans advanced the cultivation techniques for this valuable fruit. Similar events transpired much more rapidly in the New World. Early settlers found four varieties of wild crab apples. These strains were quickly complemented by seeds and shoots brought over by French, Dutch, German, and English settlers. The apple is favorably influenced by cool winters, and thrives in environments with warm, sunny days and cool nights that exist during the fall days of temperate regions of North America. The "forbidden fruit" of Biblical reference is not only adored by many humans, but attracts many species of birds and numerous mammalian species such as bears, deer, skunks, raccoons, and porcupines. |
